Join Idaho Rural Water’s Craig Sturman and Gary Sievers in this hands-on training.

This 6-hour course identifies the needs for collecting and maintaining GIS data for your systems.  You will learn how GIS and mapping works and what tools are needed to do it yourself, saving your system time and money.

You will learn how to collect features, put them on a map, and be able to find them later.

We will discuss different options for mapping software and equipment.

You will also learn how GIS mapping can be used for asset management, servicing records, system upgrades, modifications, and how to add documentation to assets on the map.

The last part of the day will be spent in the field locating pre-defined assets.

Please bring your GPS enabled smart phone or tablet.  You will need to be able to download apps and documents.
