IRWA is excited to team up with Dennis Fisher from APRO Safety Training and Consulting to bring you Confined Space Entry Training for General Industry! Reduce accidents and deaths at your place of work by learning how to use proper protective equipment, recognize dangerous situations and respond appropriately, and learn techniques for confined space rescue. This class is open to any and all industry workers! Not exclusively for drinking water or wastewater operators.
Dennis is an authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor for both the 10-hour and 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry and Construction Industry. Dennis has over 22 years of military ground, flight, weapons, vehicles, and safety experience. He also has civilian work and safety experience in transportation, home building construction and commercial building construction. We are excited for Dennis to help you improve safety and reduce dangerous scenarios at your workplace
This class will include both instruction and hands-on components. The hands-on portion includes demonstration with personal protective equipment (PPE) and student practice with tripod and extraction equipment. Students will learn and practice the proper technique for removing an unconscious worker from a confined space. This course covers the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146 standards for entry and permit required entry. At the end of the course students will take a 40 question exam to earn their OSHA 10 certification for general industry.
Please note, extra time is allotted in the schedule to cover questions/discussions, breaks, and additional time with the equipment if needed.
