For City officials, utility privatization can sound appealing due to the lack of responsibility for rate increases and the boost to the City’s budget. However, those perks are sometimes outweighed by the poor service and extreme rate inflation that privatization can entail. The result? Many towns across America have entered into costly court battles in an effort to regain control of their water supply.
